What is CBD? Will I get high? Is it Addictive?
CBD stands for Cannabidiol ( can – na – bid – i – ol ).
Cannabidiol or CBD is just one of hundreds of chemical components in Cannabis. However, CBD oil is made from seeds of Industrial Hemp Plants which have very little of the main psychoactive ingredient called delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol or THC. CBD has become popular and more and more in the news after extensive research in America found potential health benefits.
Do not confuse our CBD oil with CBD from Medical Marijuana – Which can only be prescribed by doctors.
No, you won’t get high and you will not become addicted to CBD. As CBD is sourced from Hemp plants not Marijuana plant.
What’s the science behind CBD?
Cannabinoids is a blanket term covering a family of complex chemicals that lock onto molecules on the surface of cells called cannabinoid receptors (CB1) which are found mainly in our brain and nervous system as well as lungs, liver and kidneys.
We all have (humans and many mammals) have inside our bodies an endocannabinoid system (ECS) that processes cannabinoids. This system is one of the body’s largest neurotransmitter networks. Its job? The ECS is always working to achieve balance – a stable internal environment in our body despite external changes.
Our brain naturally produces endocannabinoids which are like homegrown messengers that can be found in our brain, organs, connective tissues, glands and immune cells. The ECS sends out neurotransmitters (like a messenger + communication module) to all our body parts to check if everything is working smoothly and confirm if anything needs to be
rebalanced. When or if it finds there is a problem the ECS regulates it by sending further instructions to receptors that adjust how you feel and think.
The ECS keeps tabs on: –
- Fertility, pregnancy, reproductive system
- Appetite, hunger and digestive system
- Sleep
- Motor Control
- Pain and pleasure
- Immune Functions
- Temperature
- Mood
- Memory
Researchers believe that when you take CBD the properties in the oil latch on to the receptors and help the brain to stimulate it into action and help when these receptors become inefficient. CBD also locks onto another group of receptors (CB2) mainly found in the immune system, spleen and in the gastrointestinal system.
Increasing the cannabinoid intake can help to give balance to ECS within our bodies. Something similar to a lock and key – a dysfunctional ECS will slow down and some functions can deteriorate as your body has difficulty communicating to your brain and vice versa. Taking cannabinoids has a positive effect and helps with these receptors.
Everyone’s ECS is different – Much like a fingerprint unique to each individual. That’s why we start intake of CBD slowly and increase intake to find the key and unlock dysfunction.
Is CBD oil Legal in Ireland and UK?
Yes, it is legal to buy and take CBD supplements in Ireland and the UK.
Isolates vs Full Spectrum / Whole plant CBD, what’s the difference?
Isolate is like a pure form of CBD in a crystalline form where it has been engineered to strip out all the other ingredients like an enhanced concentrate form of CBD.
All Bloomin Healthy CBD products are full Spectrum or Whole plant extracts – This means that the CBD contains all other cannabinoids found in the whole plant all of its natural health properties including vitamins and oils. Plus, cold pressing the CBD helps to preserve purity, potency and nutritional value of the product.
How do you take CBD oil? How long does it take for CBD oil to work?
The best method to take CBD oil is sublingual. That means under your tongue because it can be absorbed by capillaries and saliva glands so it can enter into your bloodstream much faster than any other method i.e. pills or creams.
The answer to how long does it take it to work – Well it varies.
Like any other supplements it takes time, once absorbed it needs time to be distributed throughout our body and time to bond with receptors in the body. Usually, key factors that affect the time taken are the method used to take your CBD, the quality and type of CBD, your height, your weight, your metabolic rate and your body’s composition they all play a factor into the time taken.
Can I use CBD during Pregnancy/Pregnant or Breastfeeding?
No, we do not recommend that you use CBD at this time.
Why do you not sell CBD for VAPE?
As a company Bloomin Healthy believes in health and wellbeing we strive to be ethical in this regard. We strongly believe that in future it will be found that VAPES are addictive and are nothing but a move away from addiction to tobacco and nicotine replaced with an addiction to sugar and alcohol (glycerine). All VAPE based on flavours and going into a vape shop is like shopping in a sweet shop.
We believe that those CBD sold for VAPE have minuscule or zero health benefits. As you have to add to the mix – You cannot have VAPE without glycerine or its equivalent. So, it’s like mixing a fizzy cola drink that has 20 teaspoons of sugar with a freshly squeezed orange the sugar from the fizzy cola will always be there. What’s the point of having a full fried English breakfast and compliment that with a diet cola as it’s a healthier option?

When and how are our products best taken?
In principle, the formulations can be taken anytime. Ideally, 15 minutes prior to or after a meal. Do not add to hot beverages! Liposomes are easily destroyed at >60°C. All products can be mixed with juice to improve the taste or taken with water.
Can I take different liposomal products together?
You can take our products during the same time period and also mix them for your daily dose of supplements.
Can I take liposomes with other medication will it have any negative effect?
We do not know of any negative interactions. If any odd reactions occur (between products or products and medication), in doubt one should stop or alter administration and talk to a health professional.
Your liposomal formulation is not working for me - why?
Liposomes as a carrier for active ingredients are a very well-proven technology. It works, because logically, it’s supposed to work: Phospholipids (components of liposomes) are very welcomed by our digestive system and are therefore resorbed into the bloodstream at an extremely high rate. With them, like a Trojan Horse, they bring the encapsulated active ingredients into the bloodstream. That principle should work for everyone.
So why could no higher concentration of the active ingredient be measured in your blood? The reasons can be various such as maybe your metabolism considers the active ingredient to be at a way to a high level and clears it out through its purging systems, the performed measurement was limited to a particular variant of the active ingredient, the active ingredient was encapsulated at such a high rate that the lab could only measure phospholipids, not the active ingredient, or perhaps large parts of the active ingredient have already been resorbed into various cells, which makes it impossible to measure them in your bloodstream. If you really think, a particular liposomal formulation is not doing anything good for you, we can only recommend discontinuing taking it.
Does Body and Mind Liposomal taste good?
Generally, not really – depending on individual taste and habits. We specifically refrain from sweeteners and flavours because we believe that function is more important than taste. We recommend consuming Body and Mind Liposomal with juice or diluted (cooler than 60°C).
Why is Body and Mind Liposomal a liquid?
Liposomes need water. Their building blocks, the phospholipids, have a water-soluble and a water-repellent end. Such molecules are called amphiphilic. Only an aqueous environment repels the water-insoluble areas, causing them to form layers. Double layers then form spheres due to the better distribution of forces. The water-loving “heads” point to the outside and the inside of the liposome, meaning to the water-based medium. The water-repellent fatty acid “tails” are gathered within the layer. That’s why Bloomin Healthy Liposomal products are liquid. Helps them to enter the body and with bioavailability.
What makes liposomal formulations so successful?
For practical reasons, most supplements are administered orally. This means that the vitamins, minerals or botanicals must first pass through the mouth and stomach to be absorbed in the intestine. Unfortunately, unprotected substances are very often damaged in this way or can only partially be absorbed. Liposomal formulations encapsulate the active ingredient in a liposome which passes through the mouth and stomach largely unharmed and can then be absorbed very well. Liposomes consist of lipid bilayers. Since cell membranes consist of lipid bilayers as well, liposomes are ideal carrier structures and easily taken up.
What size are Bloomin Healthy Liposomes?
The size of our liposomes is about 120 nm in the nanometer range.
Can I be sure of the quality of the used raw materials?
Yes. Absolutely! For all relevant ingredients, the analysis certificates are directly available for download. These certificates refer to the current batch and are constantly updated. In addition, substances that we purchase from other EU countries are subject to random sample analysis by EU laboratories.
Are all Bloomin Healthy Liposomal products vegan?
Yes. We make sure that all products are vegan. They are of plant origin, contain neither dairy nor gluten. The products contain phospholipids, water, and the active ingredient. Ethanol is added to the alcohol variants.
Why are pregnant women advised against taking Blooming Healthy Liposomal products?
Pregnancy is a time of a finely regulated, fragile balance. Most nutritional supplements would be unnecessary when added to balanced nutrition. Some even toxic to mother and child. This depends on the nutrient itself, the dose and the condition of the pregnant woman. In order to reduce risks and side effects, a doctor should always be consulted, as they can make appropriate, personalised recommendations.
Why are the products not suitable for children?
Children differ from adults in their metabolism. During growth and development, it is advised to consume a balanced diet rich in nutrient-dense food. Supplementation can easily lead to the unnatural one-sidedness of nutrition. Supplementation should always be discussed with a physician. Ideally, dietary supplements are only needed in a state of deficiency.
How are the products ideally stored?
Unopened, the products are stable until at least the date on the label. The bottles should not be heated or frozen and should be protected from light. Ideal storage: dark and cool (about 7 ° C) while rapidly consuming them within 25 days after opening.
